LANDER – Fremont County Sheriff’s investigators are hoping images from space may help them solve the mysterious disappearance of Amy Wroe Bechtel.

Investigator Dave King says he has learned the Russian space station Mir was photographing the United States July 24th, the day the 25 year old woman vanished.

King says the FBI wants to see if those pictures and ones from another satellite.

King hopes they might yield some clues, “We know that the resolution can be quite good, by that I mean, most anything can show up, like an automobile, or a human figure or other objects, again depending on the resolution, the quality of the photograph.”

King says he isn’t sure when they’ll find out if those photographs are available.
